What is division?
Division can be thought of as the process of sharing a quantity into equal-sized groups. When we divide a number, we are splitting it into equal parts or groups.

For example, if we have 12 apples and we want to divide them equally among 4 friends, we can create 4 equal groups. Each group will have the same number of apples, which is 3. We can also write this as the division statement, 12 ÷ 4 = 3.

Thinking of division as the process of creating equal groups is a useful way to understand and visualize division problems.
