Objective:

  • I know how to divide using multiplication facts of 10.

We can use our knowledge of multiplication facts of 10 to help us with division problems.
For example, consider the division problem 60 ÷ 10.
To solve this problem using multiplication, we can ask the question: “What number times 10 equals 60?"
The answer is 6, because 6 × 10 = 60.
Therefore, 60 ÷ 10 = 6.
