Learning the “Dr” Blend
The “dr” blend combines the sounds of “d” and “r”:
“d” sound: /d/ (as in “dog”)
“r” sound: /r/ (as in “red”)
When you put them together, you get the blended sound /dr/. Try saying it slowly: /d/-/r/-/dr/. You should hear both the /d/ and /r/ sounds.
