Spelling Patterns for the /k/ Sound

  1. Letter K:
    Most common at the beginning (kite, king).
  2. Letter C: (hard c sound)
    Often makes the /k/ sound before A, O, or U (cat, cold, cup).
  3. CK:
    Used at the end of words after a short vowel (duck, back, pick).

Learning About the Silent K
