Multiplying a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number involves breaking down the process into manageable steps. You can also use the partial products method.
- Write the 2-digit number as the top number and the 1-digit number as the bottom number, aligned by their ones place.
- Multiply the bottom number (1-digit) by each digit of the top number (2-digit) one at a time, starting from the rightmost (ones place) digit.
- After multiplying by each digit of the top number, add all the partial products.
