Videos and songs to help First Grade kids learn how to pronounce consonant blend PR. A consonant blend is when two or more consonants are blended together, but each sound may be heard in the blend. When pronouncing words with the “pr” combination, you say both the “p” and the “r” clearly in quick succession, without a pause.

Learning the Consonant Blend PR
The “pr” blend combines the sounds of “p” and “r”:
“p” sound: /p/ (as in “pen”)
“r” sound: /r/ (as in “run”)
When you say them together, you get the blended sound /pr/. Try saying it slowly: /p/-/r/-/pr/. You should be able to hear both the /p/ and /r/ sounds.
