How to round decimals to the nearest hundredths?
To round decimals to the nearest hundredths, you can use the following steps:
Step 1: Underline the digit in the hundredths place.
Step 2: Look at the digit immediately to the right, which is the digit in the thousandths place.
Step 3: If the digit in the thousandths place is 5 or greater, round up to the next hundredths.
Step 4: If the digit in the thousandths place is less than 5, the digit in the hundredth place remains the same.
For example, let’s say you have the decimal 2.376 that you want to round to the nearest hundredths. The digit in the thousandths place is 6. Since 6 is greater than 5, we round 2.376 to 2.38.
