Learning the Short Vowels
Short vowels are fundamental sounds in the English language. They are often introduced to early readers as part of phonics instruction. Each vowel (A, E, I, O, U) has a short sound when it appears in simple words, especially in consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) patterns.

What Are the Short Vowel Sounds?
Short A: as in cat
