The silent K is an interesting feature of the English language. It occurs primarily in words where K is followed by the letter N at the beginning of the word.
Learning the Silent K
The silent “k” follows a very consistent rule. The letter “k” is always silent when it comes before the letter “n” at the beginning of a word.
