Grade 2 Worksheets
In these Second Grade math worksheets, students practice subtracting 3-digit numbers using the regrouping or borrowing method. Subtract a 3-digit number from a 3-digit number. For example, 475 - 128 = 347.
How to subtract 3-digit numbers?
Step 1: Write the two numbers on top of each other, with the number to be subtracted below the number from which it is being subtracted. Make sure the digits are lined up according to their place value.
Step 2: Start with the rightmost column (the ones place) and subtract the bottom digit from the top digit. If the top digit is less than the bottom digit, you will need to regroup from the next column to the left (the tens place).
Step 3: Repeat the subtraction for the tens place and then the hundreds place.
