Examples, solutions, videos, and worksheets to help Grade 7 and Grade 8 learn how to solve system of equations using the graphical method. Sketch the graphs of two linear equations and find the point of intersection. Identify the point of intersection of the two lines as the solution to the system. Verify by computation that the point of intersection is a solution to each of the equations in the system.
Solving a system of equations using the graphical method involves plotting both equations on a coordinate plane and finding the point where the two lines intersect. This intersection point represents the solution to the system of equations.
Note:
If the lines are parallel, they will never intersect, and the system has no solution.
If the lines coincide (are the same line), they have infinitely many solutions.
