How to find the volume of a right prism?

A right prism is a three-dimensional solid object with two parallel, congruent bases and rectangular faces connecting corresponding sides of the bases. The lateral faces (the sides connecting the bases) are perpendicular to the bases, which distinguishes a right prism from an oblique prism, where the lateral faces are not perpendicular to the bases.

To calculate the volume of a right prism, you need to know the area of its base and its height.
The general formula for the volume
V of a prism is: V=B×h where:
B is the area of the base of the prism,
h is the height of the prism (the perpendicular distance between the two bases).
The method for finding the area of the base B depends on the shape of the base. For example:
Square: B = side²
Rectangle: B = length × width
Triangle: B = 1/2 × base × height (where base is any side of the triangle and height is the perpendicular distance from that base to the opposite vertex)
